Obedience to Authority

In our daily lives we come across orders, directions, rules, commands, instructions what is it that makes us obey or disobey them? Obedience is defined as a is a form of social influence where an individual acts in response to a direct order from another individual, who is usually an authority figure. It is assumed that without such an order the person would not have acted in this way. When it comes to a person being an authority figure what makes an individual obey them more so then say if it was just a friend or your sibling asking you to do something? I feel many tend to obey authority figures more so out of fear, and the consequences they could face.

Happiness Poll

Everyone states that they want to be happy, but what do you truly feel being happy means? I took a poll from my friends on social media and some of the responses were as follows.

  • Family
  • Church & Faith
  • Self-Confidence
  • Security & Peace
  • Contentment- truly being satisfied with what you have been given in life.
  • Tranquility
  • Not having to worry about anything because you know God has a plan for your life.
  • It's a feeling that all is right with your world. You know that you've made mistakes but you've worked through them. You plan to live your life helping and mentoring. Loving your family, friends pets etc and doing what you can do to make the world a better place.
  • When class is cancelled
  • Oreo's and milk
I believe happiness is what we make it and that it doesn't exist in the past or in the future it's in the state our of life right now, what we are going through and all the challanges we face with daily life.

Why Grammar Is Important

Grammar plays a very important role in our lives as well as education, although it is said and stated that it is one of the hardest languages to learn, it however is the means to effective communication. Most errors in english occur with sentence structures, punctuation and spelling, knowing how to use grammar correctly makes the material easier to read and understandable. If you were to just let a sentence flow, without any punctuation, it could easily become confusing to the reader. With the United States now blending different nationalities and foreign language individuals its very important that we as Americans are using the correct grammar. It is a difficult language to learn as the english language such a variety a words that can have the same spelling but completely different sound/meaning.  Below is an example.
The bandage was wound around the wound.
The farm was used to produce produce.
The dump was so full that it had to refuse more refuse.
We must polish the Polish furniture.
He could lead if he would get the lead out.
The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert.
Since there is no time like the present, he thought it was time to present the present.
At the army base, a bass was painted on the head of a bass drum.
When shot at, the dove dove into the bushes.
I did not object to the object.
The insurance was invalid for the invalid.
There was a row among the oarsmen about how to row.
They were too close to the door to close it.
A buck does funny things when does are present.
A seamstress and a sewer fell into a sewer.
To help with planting, the farmer taught his sow to sow.
The wind was too strong to wind the sail.
After a number of Novocain injections, my jaw got number.
Upon seeing the tear in the painting I shed a tear.
I had to subject the subject to a series of tests.
How can I intimate this to my most intimate friend?
I spent last evening evening out a pile of dirt.

In conclusion, grammar is very important in everyday speech, in order to understand and comprehend another person, especially when it comes to leadership, employment etc. Using text speech is not a correct way to use grammar and even though it can be difficult its definitely an essential to life. Just as you follow rules in everyday life grammar rules are just as important and essential for daily life for clairty.
